Wine Night
Oak Valley River Canyon Ridge Chardonnay from Trader Joe's about $6.99 . I picked this one up from Wine night after reading the description that it had a butterscotch flavor which we had just heard about earlier in the week on Vine Talk. I didn't notice the butterscotch but it was a good Chardonnay.
The Michael Pozzan 2009 Chardonnay from Bevmo at around $13 was excellent.
Very smooth and enjoyable.
Definitely one of our new reasonably priced favorites. Here is the description from their website.
100% Chardonnay
100% Russian River
Aged 6 months in French Oak
This is a generous Chardonnay from one of the finest locations in California to grow Chardonnay; the Russian River. The color is slightly golden with a steely blue streak. The initial aromatics identify a rich Chardonnay with ripe Carmel coated apples and a buttery composition. Indeed on the palate this wine is super rich; replete with layers of sweet French oak and layers of complex tropical fruit intermingled with layers of butter and butterscotch. The fruit composition spans from tropical mango and passion fruit to spices from jasmine to clove.

The cheeses for the night were one of our favorites Asiago Cheese with Rosemary and Olive oil and a new one from Trader Joe's Parmesan & Gouda which was excellent as well. And the kicker was a Kirkland Goat cheese with honey drizzled on it......Now that was one of the most delicious things I've ever tried.
